Finnish-Canadian Seniors Apartments, a Non-Profit Charitable Organization dedicated to housing for seniors.

Sprucedale Strathroy-Caradoc (LTC)


Family-owned and operated long-term care home accommodating 96 residents. Sedun + Kanerva is adding to the facility they designed and constructed in 2002

Sudbury Finnish Rest Home Society, a Non-Profit Charitable organization committed to housing and caring for seniors/elderly. Sedun + Kanerva has been the architect-of-record for almost 40 years.

6. Lepokoti Affordable Seniors’ Apartments

(2013) $ 10.3 million 3 -storey, 82 units (private + standard) with shared dining, kitchen, wellness centre and a 300-capacity multi-purpose room ICF, Precast concrete floor slab, wood truss with shingle roofing, increased roof / wall insulation, EIFS exterior, white PVC membrane roofing.

(2008) $ 700,000 2 -storey, 4 units per floor, with shared living, dining and kitchen facilities with attendant bedroom for caregiver. ICF, precast concrete floor slab, wood truss with shingle roofing, super insulation and EIFS exterior, radiant-in-floor heating, HRV exhaust, instant water heater.
(1990, 1993, 2008) $6.5 million $ 160,000 to $ 260,000 per unit (Life Lease Tenure) 31 units (2BR + 3BR) townhomes for seniors with barrier-free design Phase I (16 units), Phase II (7 units) and Phase III (8 units) Brick exterior, wood frame and trusses with shingle roofing, radiant-in-floor heating, Instant water heater & super insulation.
(2001) $ 8.0 million 1-storey, 110 bed LTC facility including separate 14 bed Alzheimer unit with private rooms, circuitous corridors, rummage closets, incontinent washroom designs Glulam beams and columns with wood decking, wood truss roof with shingles, higher insulation walls with EIFS exterior, radiant-in-floor heating, HRV exhaust package for heat/cool.
(1988) $ 6.5 million 1-storey, 46 suite multi-service Seniors’ Centre with kitchen, dining, lounges, activity rooms, 120-seat auditorium, exercise room, therapy swimming pool, whirlpool spa, sauna, shower/change rooms, barber/beauty, and community clinic. Concrete block bearing walls, truss roof, EIFS exterior, shingle roofing, glulam beams and columns, packaged rooftop heating/cooling units, supplemented with electric baseboard heaters.
